WHAT MAKES THIS IDEA SO GOOD?
Besides the fact that the idea’s returns are well higher than the benchmark, it’s important to mention that even with these higher returns, we had much lower drawdowns than the S&P. This reinforce our philosophy: “deliver returns above the markets with risk management and diversification”

During the Covid-19 crash, the drawdown of our idea was half than the S&P 500
1. In the last quarter of 2018, the markets had a little crash, mainly in October and December. 2018 was a though year for the markets:
– Ex. President Donald Trump’s trade war with China;
– The slowdown in global economic growth;
– Concern that the Federal Reserve was raising interest rates too quickly.
All the points mentioned above contributed to a pessimistic reaction from the stock market. Nevertheless, while the S&P had a drawdown around -14% in the last quarter of 2018, we kept the drawdown above -10%. And by the end of the year, Stock Master Idea ended up with 7.22% of return, against -6.59% for the S&P 500.
2. Covid-19 Crash
March/20 was a terrific month for the global markets, due to the uncertainty that the virus could bring to the global economies. S&P 500 had the worst March since the Great Depression in 1929. While the benchmark fell -20%, our idea was down only -9.66%, in a comparative basis, it´s a great accomplishment.
When the next market crash or sell off comes, we hope to be prepared and in a much safer position than the markets.
